Tolna county
(15HÖ001)Hőgyész lies in the zone surrounded by Pécs, Dabas, Szekszárd, Dunaújváros in the valley of Donát creek in the southern part of the Tolna hill slope. It can be accessed simply and fast from motorway M6, by railway and from the international airport of Sármellék nearby.
The palace was built in the 1720’s, it received its current appearance during the reconstruction realised in 1784 and in the second half of the 1800’s Ybl Miklós restored it.
The 5.5-hectare virgin park representing a special dendrology value was restored upon the occasion of the palace hotel’s reconstruction lying in the middle of a beautiful arboretum planted amidst the picturesque hills of Tolna. There is an almost 250-year-old plane tree in the arboretum which is presumed to be the oldest one all over Hungary.
Under the supervision and guidance of the monument protection office deep drilling was realised at the start of the turn of the millenary during which thermal water of good quality was found, which is excellently suitable to heal the illnesses of the backbone, joints, movement organs and breathing organs.
The original architectural qualities were preserved in the rooms and all the guest rooms of the palace and 31 double rooms were realised during the reconstruction.
The services of the hotel: swimming pool of 10 x 20 metres with confined water, 2 circular pools with thermal water and medicinal water respectively, 4 saunas and 1 infrared cabin, wellness services, fitness room.
